Establishment of 100,000 Yuan Tu Clan Thanksgiving Fund; personal filial love turning to great public love
On the morning of Sep.5, Chairman Tuchangzhong and his three elder brothers were making Baozi behind a bridge in Liushi county. 8000 Baozi had been delivered at the end of 10 o’clock. That was the second time they memory their mother via delivering Baozi. Then they invited 6 doctors to inspect 100 old people for free, and gave them presents for health keeping. Four Tu Brothers set up a Family Thanksgiving Fund of 100,000 Yuan annual, caring weak old people, hoping turning their filial love to great public love.
It was known that Four Tu Brothers prepared at 2:00 in the early morning. They moved tables, rent machines, and bought flour. They were glad to see the passersby taking their Baozi with gratitude. Chairman Tu said that they wanted to memory their mother when she passed away for two years. She fed the whole family by making Baozi. The toughness and bitterness were imaginable.
Four brothers had their own successful career, but felt it was not enough to love their own parents. Chairman Tu said they suggested setting Sep. 5 to be Thanksgiving Day of Tu clan, and establishing a fund of 100,000 Yuan annual. The Fund was supervised and managed by Yueqing Senior Citizen Association, for helping and caring the weak and old group in the city.
When the Baozi delivering activity ended, Tu brother united Yueqing HuaShan Chinese & Western Medicine Combination to start Health Sending activity for the old people in local counties, of which the theme was Caring 100 Senior Citizen. They organized 6-men doctors’ team to inspect 100 old people in Liushi County and sent health keeping materials worth 100 Yuan each.
Comments of the author: when Mencius described his ideal society, he said “Love other’s parents as your own parents; love other’s children as your own children.” That was also a good tradition being inherited and expanded. Although, Tu brothers didn’t think too much when they did the goodness, their plain moves indicated the essence of Mencius. Thousands Baozi and nearly 100 presents worth nothing more than 100,000 Yuan, but the filial love was tasted. Those who ate their Baozi were lucky.
